5-Day Grand Cayman Girls Trip!

Day 1: Arrival & Beach Bliss

Stop 1: Airport & rental car pick up

We touched down in Grand Cayman at 2:00 PM, officially kicking off our girls’ trip! After clearing customs and grabbing our bags, we picked up our rental car at 2:45 PM. A quick 15-minute drive took us to a nearby grocery store, where we stocked up on reef safe sunscreen, breakfast items, and some items for cooking a few dinners/lunches to make our budget stretch a little farther!

Stop 2: Airbnb, Beach & Pool!

By 3:30 PM, we arrived at our Airbnb on the North Shore. With a beach right next door and a private pool, it was the perfect tropical retreat. Naturally, the first order of business was to take some beach pics. We walked the beach, relaxed in the shallow waters and wound down after the flights. Afterward, we hopped into our Airbnb’s pool for a relaxing swim until about 5:30 PM.

Stop 3: Dinner at Rum Point Club!

At 6:30 PM, we showered, changed, and got ready for dinner. We drove 10 minutes to our restaurant that was at the North shore in Rum point called Rum Point Club and enjoyed a delicious meal while toasting to the start of our island adventure.

Day 2: Stingrays, Sweets & Night Kayaing!

Half of us were early risers, and others wanted to get their full beauty sleep. I got up early and enjoyed my coffee, oatmeal, and fruit while watching the sun rise on the beach and a leisurely quick walk along the water.

Stop 1: Captain Marvin’s Stingray city & Snorkel Tour

At 7:30 AM, we hit the road to get to our Stingray City & Coral Gardens Half-Day Snorkel Tour, making the 40-minute drive to the meeting location. We did the two stop tour with Captain Marvin’s tours. Check-in was at 8:15 AM, and by 8:45 AM, we were boarding the boat.

The tour took us first to Stingray City, where we had an unforgettable experience swimming alongside friendly stingrays and feeding them! We all got a chance to take a photo with the HUGE stingrays and took turns feeding the smaller ones that swam by us. (Be careful of the sea birds who are waiting to snip the stingray food from your hand!)

Next up was Coral Gardens, where we snorkeled for about 45 minutes, marveling at the stunning underwater scenery. The boat returned to the dock by 11:30 AM, and they bussed us back to the meeting point by 12.

Stop 2: Lunch at Ms. Piper’s Kitchen + Garden

Starving after all that swimming, we drove 25 minutes to Ms. Piper’s Kitchen + Garden for lunch. Fitting for a girls trip - The restaurant's cocktails were inspired by ICONIC women from around the world! I had the Yoko Ono, which was fruity and refreshing. For food, we all ordered the lunch special, but the real stars were dessert—Grilled Banoffee and Eton Mess (merengue) , which we all split because, why not?!

Stop 3: Seven-mile beach

After lunch we made our way to Seven Mile Beach, where we spent the next few hours soaking up the sun, walking along the pristine white sand, and floating in the crystal-clear waters.

Tip: this beach is super busy on the weekends, if you want a more secluded experience maybe go to another beach, or plan to hit this beach up when there is not a cruise on the island!

Stop 4: Back to the Airbnb

By 5:45 PM, we were back in the car for the 45-minute drive back to our Airbnb. We showered, changed, and it was time for girl dinner! We planned our meals so that each person took charge of one per day, and tonight was Gabby’s night—she absolutely delivered with two trays of loaded nachos. The perfect pre-game meal for our nighttime adventure, which helped our budget go further!

Stop 5: Bioluminescent Kayak Tour at Rum Point

At 9:00 PM, we drove 10 minutes down the road to Rum Point for our Bioluminescent Kayak Tour. The tour started at 9:30 PM, and it was a clear night with the sky filled with stars. Halfway through, our guide pointed out constellations while we took a break. But the real magic? The glowing bay. As we paddled, we could see the bioluminescence around our kayaks and even the silhouettes of fish swimming beneath us. It was nothing short of otherworldly—a true bucket-list moment. The Guide said the bioluminescence was dependent on a lot of factors like water temp, weather, and currents, and they we were lucky since it was some of the best bioluminescence he had seen that year so far!

Tip: we took our phones to take pictures - but if you have a GoPro or a better quality waterproof camera we recommend you bring it! The phone cameras didnt do it justice capturing the glow!

Our tour was 1.5 hours and by 10:45 PM, we were back in the car heading back to our Airbnb.

Day 3: Caves, Road Trips & Beach Adventures

After an early wake-up call on Day 2, we slept in and had a relaxed morning. By 9:00 AM, we were enjoying breakfast and coffee at our Airbnb, soaking in the slow island vibes.

Stop 1: Cayman Crystal Caves

At 9:30 AM, we hopped in the car for a 15-minute drive to Crystal Caves, arriving just in time for our 10:00 AM tour. The tour was incredible! We explored three different caves, each filled with stunning rock formations and underground pools. The walk through the lush forest area to each cave made the experience even more magical. A fun heads-up—there are bats in the caves! Three of us thought they were super cool, but one of us was mildly terrified. Don’t worry, though—the bats stayed near the top of the caves and never came close to us!

After the tour, we treated ourselves to piña coladas at the café above the caves—and they were absolutely delicious!

Stop 2: Lunch at Airbnb

Since we were only 15 minutes from our Airbnb, we headed back for a homemade lunch at 12:30 PM before hitting the road for an afternoon adventure!

Stop 3: Good Mood Swing & Hell!

At 1:30 PM, we kicked off our road trip, making fun stops along the way! Our first stop? The Good Mood Swing, a cute scenic stop that made for the best pictures. Then, we drove to Hell—yes, you read that right! This unique geological formation was a hilarious and fun photo op.

Stop 3: Shopping and exploring George town!

By 2:30 PM we headed into George Town. We explored the historic Fort George Ruins and the Clock Tower, then wandered down Harbour Drive and South Church Street, browsing rum shops and touristy boutiques.

Stop 4: Spotts Public Beach

At 4:00 PM, we started the 30 to 45 -minute drive back to our Airbnb but made a detour for a quick beach stop. Spotts Public Beach was absolutely stunning! We took sunset photos and snorkeled right from the shore (tip: bring a swim suit a towel anywhere you go - you never know where or when the urge to explore a beach or the perfect photo stop will be), where we saw sea turtles and smaller stingrays— and an unforgettable sunset.

Stop 5: Dinner at Big Tree BBQ

For dinner, we embraced local flavors and grabbed food from a roadside stand. We picked up Big Tree BBQ and each got our own plate but shared everything. The mild jerk chicken was my favorite—so flavorful and delicious!

Stop 6: Airbnb

By 8:00 PM, we were back at our Airbnb!

Day 4: Turtles, Tarpons & Salsa Dancing

We started our day sleeping in a little since we had no set tours this day! We enjoy with breakfast and coffee at the Airbnb and did a short morning beach walk together!

Stop 1: Cayman Turtle Centre

Our main stop of the day was the Cayman Turtle Centre. It was like a mini water park, but the highlight was swimming with sea turtles—they swam right up to us! We also learned about the breed-and-release program, which has helped restore sea turtle populations in the Caribbean.

They also have breeding pools (for the breed and release program) that you can wade in and be right next to the baby sea turtles - so cute!!

After we got all the turtle time we needed, we enjoyed the water slides and large pool! They also had an aviary that you can walk through which highlights the native birds of the island. Apart from the turtles they had a large area with nurse sharks which they have a feeding schedule for, we were able to watch the lunch time nurse shark feeding. We grabbed lunch and sno-cones at the Turtle Centre before showering and changing at the showers and changing areas at the Turtle Centre.

Stop 2: Camana Bay

We had a little time to kill between our dinner plans so we explored a large shopping center called Camana Bay. They had a bunch of different stores (both upscale and also more affordable ones), coffee shops, and a bookstore!

Stop 3: The Wharf for dinner, drinks and dancing!

At 5:00 PM, we headed to The Wharf for happy hour! they also have two scheduled tarpon feedings at the wharf we could see ay 7 and 9! We did not realize tarpon could get that big! At around 7 we sat down for out dinner. A great thing about the Wharf is they offer free salsa lessons at 8! We did the free salsa lessons while waiting for our food and once the lesson was done, our food was ready!

Stop 4: Back to the Airbnb

After dinner and drinks, we put our new salsa skills to the test before heading back to our Airbnb at 10:00 PM—a perfect end to another epic day!

Day 5: Soaking Up the Last Rays

We enjoyed a relaxing morning at the Airbnb, soaking in the last bit of island sun by the pool. After breakfast, we packed up, checked out, and made our way to the airport to return our rental car and fly home.

Until next time, Grand Cayman! 🌴☀️
