Grand Cayman Girls' Trip Budget
Total trip budget:
The four of us did this trip together so we were able to split the car rental, gas, and Airbnb 4 ways!
Per person this trip costs us:
Flights: $317.68 USD per person
Hotel: $273.00 USD per person
Car: $46.00 USD per person
Food and excursions/activities: $508.12 USD per person
So per person the total cost was $827.12 + Flights
Including the flights the total cost was $1,144.80 per person for us.
Want to budget a little harder than what I did? A few costs to cut to bring my budget down from $827 to $696
Skip the Camana Bay shopping and go for another beach activity at one of the many beautiful and free beaches on the island. Saved $43.45
Skip the souvenir that ended up breaking on my flight home and I had to throw away. Save $12.50.
Skip the Pina colada at the Crystal caves cafe - we thought it was freshly made, but we found out after its just a premade mix and ice :(. Saved $10.
Skip the alcoholic drinks/cocktails or limit it to 1 cocktail a day. Skipping the alcoholic beverages would have saved me $65.
Total Saved: $130.95. Bringing my $827.12 to $696.17, which is not a monumental amount of money saved…but if your budget is just a little bit away from making your dream girls trip a reality - this can help!
Day 1: Arrival & Beach Bliss
Stop 1: Airport & Rental Car Pick-up
Flights (Round-trip per person, MIA to GCM): $317.68
Our trip was in March and we were able to get American Airlines flights round trip with carry-on bags included for $317. March is considered one of the best times to visit Grand Cayman. While still busy, March may see slightly less tourist traffic than the peak winter months. March is also Ideal for water activities, which we were planning to do. The calm waters in March are perfect for snorkeling, diving, and beach swimming.
Rental Car (5 days, split between 4 people):
$134.00 / 4 = $33.50 per person ***
***We booked through a third party site (Kayak) which got us an amazing deal BUT we didn’t get the car we thought we booked…we ended up much smaller car than expected: a chevy spark. But we were all fine since we all packed pretty light and were able to get the luggage to fit.
TIP: They drive on the left side of the road! This took about a day to get used to, but if you aren’t expecting it, it may be a surprise! The roads on the whole island were paved and in excellent condition! We had no issues driving the entire trip.
